The costume looks great when it arrived, however, it has no stitching around the neck opening. It looks like someone just used scissors to cut a hole for the neck and left the material as is. The material is thick, but seems to be constructed like women's panty hose. It runs the same way. The area around the neck immediately became frayed and full of "runs" within a few minutes of putting on. Since it's cheap, either expect it to last 1 use or stitch your own hem around the neck before allowing the child to put it on. It's a bit awkward to wear, but due to sponge bob's square shape, this is to be expected. The costume bends well enough when needed to move around. The material is not super stiff.
